College Prep Camp
2011 marks the second year of The Rams College Prep Camp, featuring the staff of The VCU Men's Soccer Team as well as other top coaches from across the country. This three-day event is designed for advanced player development and exposure to some of the nation's top college coaches. In addition to college coaches, several Rams players will be employed by the camp for demonstration purposes.
The VCU Soccer Staff believes that "the game is the best teacher." The same philosophy will be applied at camp. The focus of all activities will be learning through play. Enrollment in the camp will be extremely limited to allow individual attention for each player from the staff of college coaches. A combination of small sided and full 11 vs 11 games will be at the core of the camp curriculum.
Players should plan on being available Friday night beginning at 5:00 pm, all day Saturday and finishing Sunday afternoon by 2:00 pm.
Facilities
The College Prep Camp will be held at the state of the art VCU Sports Backers Stadium. The home to Ram soccer, Sports Backers Stadium also boasts one of the finest playing surfaces on the east coast.
Housing and Meals
Housing and meals are not included in the camp price therefore players who are attending from outside the area will need to make their own arrangements prior to attending camp. There are several housing and dining options in and around Sports Backers Stadium. For any questions regarding meals and housing please feel free to contact the camp office at (804) 355-1351.
Who Can Attend?
Camp is open to boys ages 15 and up. Field players and goalkeepers are welcome, however goalkeeper slots are very limited and will fill up quickly. Because of the nature of this camp, activities are designed and the focus will be on high-level soccer players. Players interested in camp should be involved in high level club soccer play, be a member of State, Regional or National ODP or be a standout high school player with the goal of being a Division I soccer player.
